Clorox 2

clorox2s

Hi there.
The Clorox 2 boxon the left is from a 1977 ad.  I love the design because it’s like with so many older designsm it’s so basic but so straightforward.  It’s flat blue background and stark colors make it look like a poster you might find in a gallery (owned by me).  I like how the diamond is half orange and half red-orange.  The font is kind of generic looking but doesn’t seem too boring.  I love the font for “all fabric bleach”, it just looks so…friendly with it’s lack of capital letters and simple feel.

The new Clorox 2 is a bit zazzier.  The background is a multi-shaded blue in the form of rays or stripes.  The diamond has two colors but instead of being divided in half by right and left side, the second color is lining the first.  Also, the diamond is filled with blue with a type of glow to it.The title text is more fluid and the placement ofthe “2″ almost makes it look like it’s being squared.
In general there is a lot more information on the box although the old box might have been muted for the sake of being in an ad.  I’m guessing there probably wasn’t much more to it in real life though.

Clorox 2: Old or new?

SO glad to see you back! :D I just think sometimes simpler is better – the new logo makes my eyes tired. There’s too much going on!

Thanks guys, I will try to keep up with it this time! I do miss it, it’s just so easy to get out of the habit.

I preferred the latter because I can get paranoid about doing laundry. In this instance, I appreciate all the clarifications/elabourations about color-safeness and the ilk.

Glad to see you blogging again! I have a hard time staying in the blogging habit myself.

I voted “old” because I generally hate boxes with swooshes and crap like that.
